Chicago firm bets on Nashville market with new office building

July 15, 2025

Chicago-based Convexity Properties — the real estate arm of DRW Holdings LLC, a Chicago trading firm founded in 1992 by Don Wilson — recently completed 5 City Blvd., a 15-story office building atop 17,000 square feet of retail in Nashville’s OneCity master development.

The building stands out among the swath of low rises off Charlotte Avenue, adding 344,000 square feet of office space and hundreds of parking spots to the area.

While most of the new, Class A office buildings in Nashville rise closer to the downtown area, Convexity saw the perks of having a little more distance from the hustle and bustle.

“When evaluating sites, convenience and quality are important determining factors,” Jessica Minton, senior vice president at Convexity, told the Business Journal. “5 City offers easy access to a variety of locations in and around Nashville. Proximity to the central business district, direct access to I-40 & I-440 interstates and the Charlotte Avenue connector make 5 City one of the most convenient office locations in Nashville.”

The firm broke ground on the project in 2023 during a tough time for new development, especially in the office sector.

Despite the challenges of high interest rates, a shaky economic environment and post-Covid work trends, Convexity pushed through and delivered a building it believe will benefit from the “flight to quality” trend, adding in loads of amenities among expansive downtown views.
