Crescent Communities and oneC1TY Nashville Unveil NOVEL oneC1TY, Nashville’s New Modern Social Club

September 2, 2026

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Sep. 2, 2026) – Crescent Communities, a nationally recognized, market-leading real estate investor, developer, and operator of mixed-use communities today announced its plans for NOVEL oneC1TY, a new 313-unit residential community planned for oneC1TY, the health- and wellness-focused mixed-use destination at the intersection of I-440 and Charlotte Avenue in West Nashville developed by Cambridge. NOVEL oneC1TY is envisioned as “Nashville’s Modern Social Club” – a home base for residents built around the city’s love for culture, community, and mindful living. Designed around the idea that healthy living should be effortless, NOVEL oneC1TY combines the bustle of an innovative city with easy access to the outdoors, just steps from Centennial Park. Its sustainable, intentionally open and airy design features ample green space, including access to The Yard – oneC1TY’s community lawn and event venue known for hosting craft, music, fitness, and food festivals – with direct access to oneC1TY’s shopping, dining, fitness, and office destinations. “We think of NOVEL oneC1TY as Nashville’s new social club: open to the community by design, with special experiences and benefits for the residents who call it home,” said Simcha Ward, Managing Director for Nashville and Charlotte at Crescent Communities. “Building on the success of the existing oneC1TY neighborhood, it will be a place to gather below, recharge within and escape above. Woven from Nashville rather than simply located in it, NOVEL oneC1TY will reflect the creativity, energy and hospitality of the city while welcoming people to experience the community on their own terms.” The NOVEL oneC1TY site is the parcel that houses C1TYBLOX, oneC1TY’s retail and sand volleyball village constructed from repurposed shipping containers at the beginning of the community’s development. As redevelopment gets underway, C1TYBLOX will continue to operate through the end of the year. Crescent Communities and Cambridge are exploring opportunities to bring beloved elements of C1TYBLOX into the next chapter of oneC1TY, including through NOVEL oneC1TY’s 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and public plaza. “C1TYBLOX was created as a ‘temporary’ activation strategy 12 years ago to help visitors envision the mindful, healthy development that was to come at oneC1TY, before any permanent buildings were constructed,” said Alan Aschenbrenner, Cambridge senior vice president of development. “Since then, C1TYBLOX has seen some 20 local food, health, fitness, and creative arts oriented tenants rotate through the village. Many of them have grown their businesses beyond the shipping containers that got them started – including one of the first C1TYBLOX tenants – AVO – which continues to operate as a much loved and celebrated vegan restaurant on the ground floor of the Element hotel building at oneC1TY.” “Crescent Communities is the perfect partner to honor and re-envision the vibrancy about what people have come to love about C1TYBLOX, including their innovative plans for a public-facing plaza that, among other amenities, seeks to bring back one of the most special elements of C1TYBLOX – sand volleyball – for all to enjoy once again,” Aschenbrenner said. In the meantime, oneC1TY continues to host community events at its permanent activation areas, The Yard and Community Table, which accommodate approximately 70,000 visitors each year. oneC1TY’s public spaces are designed to welcome all guests, whether for organized community events or for impromptu everyday gatherings. Upon completion in 2029, NOVEL oneC1TY will include 313 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. Amenities onsite will feature a resort-style rooftop pool deck with scenic landscaping, a bar for social gatherings with sand volleyball, a stylish resident clubhouse, a library with a distinctly Nashville flair, a best-in-class fitness center built for training and recovery, a courtyard complete with fire pits and outdoor kitchen space, and an airy top-level Sky Lounge with unobstructed views of the iconic Nashville skyline. Partners on NOVEL oneC1TY include KTGY (architecture), CSDG (landscape architecture and civil engineering), EM Structural (structural engineering), IMEG (MEP engineering), and Streetsense (interior design). NOVEL oneC1TY marks the latest investment in Crescent Communities’ Nashville pipeline. Other recent updates in the market include continued leasing at NOVEL Manchester Farm and HARMON West Meade, as well as the start of construction at NOVEL Richland Creek. Legacy properties include NOVEL Edgehill, Harpeth Heights, Camden West Nashville, The Sawyer at One Bellevue Place, Heartwood at Lockwood Glen, and Cadence Cool Springs. NOVEL represents Crescent Communities’ urban Class A multifamily brand, while HARMON is its single-family build-to-rent platform. Photographs of oneC1TY can be found here.
