May 28, 2019

Nashville, Tennessee – Ground has broken on a oneC1TY building to house a long-planned hotel to be operated by Marriott, with new images related to the project also released.

The start comes after changes to the design and entities to have worked on what will be Element by Westin Nashville delayed efforts.

Atlanta-based Noble Investment Group, specifically, will team with Dallas-based oneC1TY developer Cambridge Holdings to develop the site.

The LEED-certified Element will offer 175 guestrooms and suites. Atlanta-based Niles Bolton Associates is designing the structure, which will also feature a first-floor restaurant and retail space spanning a collective 12,000 square feet. Previously, Nashville-based Hastings Architecture Associates was to have handled design.

Nashville-based Crain Construction is the general contractor for the project. Previously, Chicago-based The Walsh Group (which built mixed-used downtown tower 505) was to have served as GC.

The six-story building will anchor the oneC1TY entrance on the 28th/31st Avenue Connector (see here courtesy of Google Maps).

Previously, a mid-2018 groundbreaking was eyed for the hotel.

oneC1TY Nashville will ultimately include more than 1 million square feet of Class A office space, 100,000 square feet of retail, and 600 residential units in multi-unit buildings.

“We are excited to get started on the hospitality component of our community,” Ryan Doyle, general manager oneC1TY Nashville, said in the release. “The design and operational principles of the Element brand are the perfect addition to our focus on health and innovation at oneC1TY, and the ground floor retail anchoring this specific building will increase our capacity to meet the demand we have experienced from West Nashville’s appreciation for fresh food and fitness options.”

oneC1TY is home to The Shay, a 276-unit apartment building, and an office building anchored by the Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance.
